Ooh…once I get good at making soap and making little ceramics and weaving and also making candles I’m going to start making for my friends and favorite mutuals I love you ! 🌻
I got supplies to make a small loom and to weave ! I have to finish some art history classowork tonight but I build my little loom and start weaving tomorrow…also I got the cutest little bee soap molds so I might make some soap too ! I just have to adjust the recipe
every year end best of list will have a bunch of people sounding off about how “elitist” it is, how it features no big budget franchise films, that the “art” of these films is never appreciated, etc etc etc…. and its like, fine! yes! there are a lot of artful, original ideas being funneled through shit like mission impossible fallout, but it made millions of dollars and does not need critical support! at all! shit made by people who’s main goal isn’t fucking profit does! so that the art of cinema can survive and not be usurped and defined by corporate interest? like does THAT make sense to you?!
‘Follow your nose, philosophize with your nose! Wikipedia, The Stanford
Encyclopedia of Philosophy, The Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy,
The Beginners Guide comic series, The Giants of Philosophy narrated by
Charlton Heston–things like that. They’ll all give you the standard
caricature, e.g., “Hegel is about the acorn becoming an oak”, stuff like
that… Then, smarmy, uptight, grad-students with no love in their
hearts will kick you in crotch (and do it speaking perfect French) when
you try to weigh in on the basis of that knowledge so you’ll read each
of three critiques from cover to cover carefully underlining everything
that is important, you’ll keep reading, reading it all, always the
original book, always from cover to cover, and then when smarmy grad
student comes to kick you down you’ll just feel bad for them… They’ll
say something like, “Yeah, I wrote an essay about how I want to make
out with Walter Benjamin.” And you’ll say something like, “Huh? You
know my brother just got down slugging through the Arcades Project, have
you ever read that one?” And they’ll say, “Yeah, I think so…” Then,
you’ll think to yourself, ‘geese, it took my brother several weeks to
slug through that several hundred page collection of fragments and
aphorisms, it’s something I don’t think he’ll ever forget, and here this
person is telling they’re not even sure if they read it! Damn, I guess
I won’t even bother trying to dialog about On Language As Such and On
the Language of Man, even though the profound insights contained in that
essay illuminate the truths contained in the story of the fall in ways I
haven’t even begun to unpack, because this one I’m talking to now is no
good.’ Then, later, you’ll be in New York City and you’ll politely try
to make conversation with someone standing there, and you’ll ask them:
“What do you do?” and they’ll say “I work for an art collector” and
you’ll say “cool, what sorts of art are you into?” and they’ll say
“well, right now, I’m into garbage” and you’ll think to yourself ‘how
many of these robots are there?’
Me and river do not interact with each other that much on posts bc each time we do we manage to piss people off and I think that’s really accurate of what happens when a sag + aqua are friends
People just don’t understand our power and our genius so we have to keep it low key or this entire website would explode . They just don’t know what it’s like to have actual fun 😂

“Pitchfork: The first track I heard from the LP was “Mental Breakdown” from 2004. Can you tell me more about that song? JM: I’ve always struggled with sleep and motivation and crazy feelings and emotions that just seem overwhelming. So I tried to share a little bit of that cruel insanity with people. I wrote that in 2003, when I was living with Ariel; he was doing Worn Copy, and I was doing that in my room. Sometimes you’re listening and you’re just like, “What the fuck is going on?” I envy the shit out of people that believe [life is] a certain way. I don’t know what the fuck is going on. The best wager to me has always been the Socratic one. You ask people who seem to think it’s a certain way why they think that. And invariably you find that they come up against foundational leaps of faith– axioms that their whole certain way presupposes. I hate to talk about philosophy, but the shit I read in there makes a lot of sense– that we’re alienated from our true communal nature. I have no idea what the hell is going on in the world, in my life, in what anything means, or what I’m supposed to do. And that’s kind of what that’s about.”
